The Global Cities Hub has a new President!

Yesterday, 16 June 2025, the GCH General Assembly appointed as new President Ms. Christina Kitsos, Deputy Mayor of the City of Geneva. We are looking forward to working with her to ensure that local and regional governments become actors in international processes!

The GCH team thanks our outgoing President, Mr. Sami Kanaan. Sami’s vision of a multilateralism inclusive of local and regional governments shaped the GCH and his committment helped make the UN Forum of Mayors a reality.

Last May, we held a dinner with friends and partners to celebrate the 5 years of the Global Cities Hub. This was also the opportunity to thank Sami for all his dedication to the GCH. The whole team wishes him well-deserved time-off and all the best of luck for the future.

Two new board member also joined the GCH: we are pleased to welcome Guillaume Zufferey (City of Geneva) and Christina Wandeler (City of Zurich).
