Description
To celebrate the World Cities Day 2022 and as part of the WSIS & SDG TalkX series, ITU and Geneva Cities Hub in cooperation with UN-Habitat organize a webinar to support cities to rely on digital transformation to adapt to the looming climate and water challenges in urban settings. Urban areas being particularly vulnerable to the growing risks of climate change.
The objective of this webinar is to raise awareness on the significant role that digital transformation can play in improving climate and water adaptation and urban resilience. For example, the Internet of Things enables cities to collect climate data and better monitor the climate and response to hazardous situations. Digital twins are powerful assets that cities can use to carry out high-precision water scarcity simulations. Artificial Intelligence can help develop the best strategy to cope with these challenges.
The event will look at specific cases of how digital technologies can help cities become more climate resilient and implement ambitious water management targets.
