The WSIS Forum 2026, to be held from 6-10 July in Geneva, Switzerland, will convene stakeholders from across the globe to accelerate progress in digital cooperation. Participants will exchange knowledge, showcase innovative solutions, and engage in inclusive dialogue to develop roadmaps that contribute to global development objectives. The Smart City Leaders’ Talk organized by GCH at the WSIS High-level Events discusses the issue of people-centered and sustainable smart city development and provides a great example of an inclusive dialogue between international organizations and local governments on this crucial topic.
The AI for Good Summit is the primary multistakeholder event with the aim of unlocking AI’s potential to serve humanity. Organized from 7-10 July 2026 in Geneva, AI for Good is organized by ITU in partnership with over 50 UN Sister Agencies and co-convened with the Government of Switzerland. It will once again provide an opportunity for local leaders to exchange their views and share their challenges regarding the use of AI at the local level from delivering better municipal services to creating a citiverse accessible for all. GCH partners with ITU to organize a special session on the citiverse and include representatives of LRGs.
The inaugural Global Dialogue on AI Governance, established under the recent landmark UN General Assembly Resolution A/79/L.118 on AI, will be held back-to-back along the margins of the 2026 AI for Good Global Summit. The Global Dialogue provides an inclusive platform within the United Nations for states and stakeholders to discuss the critical issues concerning AI facing humanity today. GCH considers it essential that voices of local and regional governments are also heard.
