Mais il est v\u00e9cu localement."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Le 14 mars 2022, le Geneva Cities Hub a anim\u00e9 un panel virtuel co-organis\u00e9 par l'Union europ\u00e9enne, les \u00celes Marshall et le Bureau du Haut Commissaire des Nations Unies aux droits de l'homme sur \"<em>L'impact du changement climatique sur les droits de l'homme : un d\u00e9fi international et local<\/em>\". L'\u00e9v\u00e9nement a donn\u00e9 la parole aux autorit\u00e9s et communaut\u00e9s locales qui sont en premi\u00e8re ligne pour relever les d\u00e9fis pos\u00e9s par le changement climatique. Pour eux, le changement climatique n'est pas un sc\u00e9nario futur abstrait, mais une dure r\u00e9alit\u00e9 qui affecte leurs moyens de subsistance, leurs maisons, l'air qu'ils respirent, les terres qu'ils cultivent et m\u00eame leur propre existence dans certains cas.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Des intervenants de haut niveau (Haut-Commissaire des Nations unies aux droits de l'homme, Repr\u00e9sentant sp\u00e9cial de l'Union europ\u00e9enne pour les droits de l'homme, Envoy\u00e9 des \u00celes Marshall pour le climat) ont ouvert l'\u00e9v\u00e9nement, suivi d'une table ronde int\u00e9ressante avec des intervenants qui ont vu leurs communaut\u00e9s touch\u00e9es par l'augmentation des ph\u00e9nom\u00e8nes m\u00e9t\u00e9orologiques extr\u00eames (incendies de for\u00eat, inondations, cyclones) et l'\u00e9l\u00e9vation du niveau de la mer. Chris Constantin (ancien directeur municipal adjoint de Chico, \u00c9tats-Unis), a parl\u00e9 du r\u00f4le de Chico, en accueillant les r\u00e9sidents de la ville voisine de Paradise, enti\u00e8rement br\u00fbl\u00e9e par les feux de for\u00eat. Anware Leweniqila (ancien directeur du Bureau national de gestion des catastrophes de Fidji) a fait part de toutes les consid\u00e9rations relatives aux droits de l'homme qui devaient \u00eatre prises en compte lors de la r\u00e9installation d'un village c\u00f4tier sur des terres plus \u00e9lev\u00e9es. Enfin, Johnson Cerda (un autochtone Kichwa d'\u00c9quateur) a soulign\u00e9 la capacit\u00e9 d'adaptation des communaut\u00e9s autochtones confront\u00e9es \u00e0 des inondations fluviales de plus en plus graves, qui a atteint ses limites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Dans l'ensemble, tous les intervenants ont soulign\u00e9 que si le changement climatique est un ph\u00e9nom\u00e8ne mondial, il est v\u00e9cu localement, avec des impacts tangibles sur les droits \u00e0 la vie, \u00e0 la sant\u00e9, \u00e0 l'alimentation, \u00e0 l'eau, au logement, etc. Les autorit\u00e9s locales prennent les devants pour s'adapter, att\u00e9nuer et r\u00e9pondre aux impacts n\u00e9gatifs du changement climatique.
