Le 4 juin 2021<\/strong>, le Geneva Cities Hub (GCH), et ONU-Habitat<\/a> ont conclu un protocole d'accord (MoU), qui formalise et renforce leurs niveaux de coop\u00e9ration d\u00e9j\u00e0 \u00e9lev\u00e9s. ONU-Habitat est le programme des Nations unies qui \u0153uvre pour un avenir urbain meilleur, en mettant l'accent sur les acteurs et les questions urbaines. C'est l'entit\u00e9 des Nations unies qui a naturellement consid\u00e9r\u00e9 les autorit\u00e9s locales comme ses partenaires les plus proches. Depuis la cr\u00e9ation du GCH, ONU-Habitat est l'un de ses principaux partenaires.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Dans le protocole d'accord, GCH et ONU-Habitat conviennent de travailler ensemble pour :<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

- Sensibilisation et capacit\u00e9 accrues des villes et des r\u00e9seaux de villes ainsi que des parties prenantes internationales bas\u00e9es \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve sur les questions urbaines cl\u00e9s ;
- Am\u00e9lioration des discussions de politique publique \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve sur la participation des villes au multilat\u00e9ralisme et sur le d\u00e9veloppement urbain durable ;
- Renforcement de la coop\u00e9ration sur les questions li\u00e9es \u00e0 la Forum des Maires<\/a> et de son D\u00e9claration<\/a>;
- Am\u00e9lioration de l'interaction avec les plateformes et r\u00e9seaux mondiaux travaillant sur les questions urbaines avec la Gen\u00e8ve internationale.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

En particulier, le protocole d'accord souligne le r\u00f4le de l'action conjointe de l Geneva Urban Debates<\/a>. Ils offrent aux villes, aux r\u00e9seaux de villes et aux organisations bas\u00e9es \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve une plateforme neutre pour discuter des principales questions urbaines. Ces questions comprennent l'eau, le changement climatique et le logement. Les r\u00e9sultats des D\u00e9bats Urbains de Gen\u00e8ve seront envoy\u00e9s en tant que contributions de la Gen\u00e8ve internationale \u00e0 la Commission europ\u00e9enne. Forum Urbain Mondial<\/a> \u00e0 Katowice en 2022.<\/p>\n

Le protocole d'accord reconna\u00eet \u00e9galement la co-organisation de s\u00e9ances d'information informelles sur la Groupe de travail des Nations unies sur l'avenir des villes<\/a> pour les organisations bas\u00e9es \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve.<\/p>\n

Il constitue une \u00e9tape importante vers notre objectif commun qui est de faire progresser la participation et l'engagement des villes dans le multilat\u00e9ralisme\" a d\u00e9clar\u00e9 Anh Thu Duong du GCH, lors de la c\u00e9r\u00e9monie de signature.<\/p>\n

Graham Alabaster, chef du bureau d'ONU-Habitat \u00e0 Gen\u00e8ve, a affirm\u00e9 que \"ONU-Habitat se f\u00e9licite de cet accord qui fournit un cadre clair \u00e0 notre coop\u00e9ration avec le GCH et renforce nos efforts pour mettre en avant le r\u00f4le essentiel jou\u00e9 par les syst\u00e8mes urbains dans les processus nationaux, r\u00e9gionaux et multilat\u00e9raux\".<\/p>\n
