{"id":19371,"date":"2024-02-15T19:12:50","date_gmt":"2024-02-15T18:12:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globalcitieshub.org\/?p=19371"},"modified":"2024-02-29T17:49:44","modified_gmt":"2024-02-29T16:49:44","slug":"lrgs-should-engage-ahead-of-negotiations-in-ottawa-to-influence-future-plastic-pollution-treaty","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalcitieshub.org\/es\/lrgs-should-engage-ahead-of-negotiations-in-ottawa-to-influence-future-plastic-pollution-treaty\/","title":{"rendered":"Los GLR deben participar antes de las negociaciones de Ottawa para influir en el futuro tratado sobre contaminaci\u00f3n por pl\u00e1sticos"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El 15 de febrero, el Global Cities Hub organiz\u00f3 un seminario web informativo para informar a los gobiernos locales y regionales (GLR) sobre la pr\u00f3xima ronda de negociaciones (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/inc-plastic-pollution\/session-4\">4<sup>th<\/sup> sesi\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9 Intergubernamental de Negociaci\u00f3n<\/a>, INC-4) sobre el nuevo tratado de las Naciones Unidas contra la contaminaci\u00f3n por pl\u00e1sticos que tendr\u00e1 lugar en Ottawa (Canad\u00e1) del 23 al 28 de abril de 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Junto con Ecuador (Presidente del INC-4 y del INC-5, as\u00ed como Estado negociador), el <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genevaenvironmentnetwork.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">Red Ambiental de Ginebra<\/a> y <a href=\"https:\/\/iclei.org\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">ICLEI<\/a>, el GCH se refiri\u00f3 a los medios para que los GLR participen en el proceso e influyan en los Estados, que dirigen las negociaciones en la ONU. Al fin y al cabo, los GLR tendr\u00e1n que aplicar el tratado. Por tanto, participar en las negociaciones internacionales s\u00f3lo garantizar\u00e1 una mejor aplicaci\u00f3n sobre el terreno. &nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Aunque los GLR no pueden obtener acreditaci\u00f3n a t\u00edtulo personal para participar en el pr\u00f3ximo INC-4, s\u00ed podr\u00edan participar en el proceso a trav\u00e9s de sus delegaciones nacionales o de redes de ciudades o universidades p\u00fablicas, a las que se concede el estatus de observador. Y lo que es m\u00e1s importante, los GLR deben hacer o\u00edr su voz antes de las negociaciones para influir en ellas. Una forma eficaz de hacerlo es unirse a la coalici\u00f3n de GLR prevista por ICLEI, GCH y otros socios (m\u00e1s informaci\u00f3n pr\u00f3ximamente, \u00a1est\u00e9n atentos!).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Mientras que el <a href=\"https:\/\/wedocs.unep.org\/bitstream\/handle\/20.500.11822\/44526\/RevisedZeroDraftText.pdf\">actual proyecto de tratado sobre la contaminaci\u00f3n por pl\u00e1sticos<\/a> incluye algunas referencias y lenguaje relevante para, que est\u00e1 lejos de ser satisfactorio, en opini\u00f3n de GCH e ICLEI.
