Ya est\u00e1n en marcha los preparativos de la 4\u00aa sesi\u00f3n del Comit\u00e9 Intergubernamental de Negociaci\u00f3n<\/a> (INC-4, 23-29 de abril de 2024, Ottawa, Canad\u00e1) para elaborar un instrumento internacional jur\u00eddicamente vinculante sobre la contaminaci\u00f3n por pl\u00e1sticos. Un proyecto revisado<\/a> del instrumento ha sido publicado por la secretar\u00eda del PNUMA el 28 de diciembre de 2023 y el Global Cities Hub se alegra de que se hayan incluido sus sugerencias, teniendo as\u00ed en cuenta el papel de los gobiernos locales y regionales (GLR) en la gesti\u00f3n de los residuos y la contaminaci\u00f3n por pl\u00e1sticos y otras \u00e1reas relacionadas. Dicho esto, este borrador revisado todav\u00eda contiene (demasiadas) opciones y queda mucho trabajo por hacer para garantizar que las distintas opciones tengan en cuenta el papel de los GLR.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

En este documento de posici\u00f3n, el GCH se\u00f1ala varias \u00e1reas en las que los gobiernos locales y regionales (GLR) pueden realmente marcar la diferencia a la hora de hacer frente a la contaminaci\u00f3n por pl\u00e1sticos, y c\u00f3mo deber\u00eda reflejarse mejor en un nuevo instrumento internacional jur\u00eddicamente vinculante sobre la contaminaci\u00f3n por pl\u00e1sticos que aborde el ciclo de vida completo del pl\u00e1stico.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
