Como organizaci\u00f3n que trata de conectar mejor a los GLR con la diplomacia multilateral, el Geneva Cities Hub participar\u00e1 en el 2nd<\/sup> sesi\u00f3n de la Asamblea de las Naciones Unidas para el H\u00e1bitat<\/a> (Nairobi, 5-9 de junio) centrado en \"Un futuro urbano sostenible a trav\u00e9s de un multilateralismo inclusivo y eficaz: la consecuci\u00f3n de los Objetivos de Desarrollo Sostenible (ODS) en tiempos de crisis mundial<\/em>.\" El 8 de junio, el GCH organizar\u00e1 un evento paralelo, centrado en la localizaci\u00f3n de los ODS y c\u00f3mo estos se interconectan con los derechos humanos a trav\u00e9s de la Examen Peri\u00f3dico Universal,<\/a> un mecanismo de derechos humanos de la ONU.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tras su creaci\u00f3n en 2018 por la Asamblea General de las Naciones Unidas, la Asamblea de ONU H\u00e1bitat es el \u00f3rgano de gobernanza de ONU H\u00e1bitat, que se re\u00fane cada 4 a\u00f1os. Compuesta por los 193 Estados miembros de la ONU, es el m\u00e1ximo \u00f3rgano mundial de toma de decisiones sobre urbanizaci\u00f3n sostenible y asentamientos humanos. Este a\u00f1o, la Asamblea se centrar\u00e1 en los siguientes temas: acceso universal a una vivienda asequible; acci\u00f3n clim\u00e1tica urbana; recuperaci\u00f3n de las crisis urbanas; localizaci\u00f3n de los ODS; prosperidad y financiaci\u00f3n local. Todas estas cuestiones son cruciales para las ciudades y el GCH espera que las perspectivas, experiencias y expectativas de los GLR (un n\u00famero importante de los cuales tambi\u00e9n deber\u00eda estar presente en Nairobi) se tengan en cuenta a la hora de debatir estas cuestiones.
