En su doble calidad de Alcalde de Ginebra y Presidente del Geneva Cities Hub (GCH), Sr. Sami Kanaan<\/a> particip\u00f3 en el retiro anual de CGLU<\/a>. Subray\u00f3 la necesidad de conectar mejor a los gobiernos locales y regionales con la comunidad internacional. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tambi\u00e9n mencion\u00f3 que la salud, los derechos humanos (Examen Peri\u00f3dico Universal en el Consejo de Derechos Humanos), la digitalizaci\u00f3n y la sociedad de la informaci\u00f3n, las cuestiones humanitarias y, por supuesto, el reci\u00e9n creado Foro de Alcaldes, en el que los alcaldes pueden expresarse directamente en di\u00e1logo con los Estados, representan algunas de las prioridades en las que trabaja el GCH. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"Es necesario conseguir que los Estados comprendan y acepten que los GLR deben tener\u00a0alg\u00fan tipo de estatus<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0participar en la labor de las Naciones Unidas\", concluy\u00f3.
