Tambi\u00e9n afecta a la diplomacia."},"content":{"rendered":"<p>El 6 de diciembre de 2022, el Geneva Cities Hub fue invitado a hablar sobre \"Urbanizaci\u00f3n y cambio clim\u00e1tico: \u00bfqu\u00e9 retos para los pa\u00edses del Sur Global?\" en un&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.helvetas.org\/fr\/suisse\/a-propos-de-nous\/evenements\/table-ronde-urbanisation\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">acto organizado por Helvetas<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>El GCH subray\u00f3 que la urbanizaci\u00f3n no s\u00f3lo ha influido en el funcionamiento de la cooperaci\u00f3n al desarrollo, sino tambi\u00e9n en la forma de llevar a cabo la diplomacia. En efecto, a medida que las ciudades crecen d\u00eda a d\u00eda y surgen nuevas urbes, se han convertido en actores importantes en la escena internacional, haciendo frente a los retos mundiales (cambio clim\u00e1tico, flujos migratorios masivos, pandemias, etc.) junto con los Estados, las organizaciones internacionales, la sociedad civil, el mundo acad\u00e9mico y el sector privado. Sin embargo, las ciudades siguen sin estar plenamente incluidas en la gobernanza mundial. Y ese es el n\u00facleo de la misi\u00f3n del GCH.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Durante el acto, los ponentes Jean Granjux, de Urbanplan, y Lionel Giron, de Helvetas, recordaron datos y cifras importantes a tener en cuenta cuando se habla de urbanizaci\u00f3n:&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>El Sur Global representa el 95% del aumento de la poblaci\u00f3n urbana mundial.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Las ciudades ocupan 3% de la superficie terrestre, pero producen +70% de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La tasa media de crecimiento de las ciudades del Sur Global ronda los 5-6 %, lo que significa que el tama\u00f1o de una ciudad se duplica cada 15-20 a\u00f1os.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>La poblaci\u00f3n reci\u00e9n llegada (procedente principalmente de zonas rurales) suele ser pobre e incapaz de contribuir inmediatamente al crecimiento de la renta de la ciudad, lo que conduce a su empobrecimiento (renta per c\u00e1pita)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>En la mayor\u00eda de los casos, la primera fuente de emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero es el transporte urbano. La expansi\u00f3n urbana provoca emisiones masivas. Esto puede evitarse o reducirse si se invierte en:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>creando varios \"centros urbanos\" dentro de la ciudad;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>medios eficaces de transporte p\u00fablico;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Aplicar el concepto de \"ciudad en 15 minutos\";<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>desarrollar \"planes de reverdecimiento\", con \u00e1rboles capaces de absorber las emisiones de gases de efecto invernadero;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Producir alimentos en zonas cercanas a los centros urbanos.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>El debate arroj\u00f3 luz sobre estas tendencias de urbanizaci\u00f3n y sobre c\u00f3mo organizaciones que durante d\u00e9cadas hab\u00edan trabajado principalmente en zonas rurales -como Helvetas- tuvieron que integrar estas tendencias en sus programas, para replantearse su actual compromiso en las ciudades y contribuir al desarrollo urbano sostenible.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>El 6 de diciembre de 2022, el Geneva Cities Hub fue invitado a hablar sobre \"Urbanizaci\u00f3n y cambio clim\u00e1tico: \u00bfqu\u00e9 retos para los pa\u00edses del Sur Global?\" en un acto organizado por Helvetas.
