El Centro de Ciudades de Ginebra (GCH) dio a conocer las importantes reuniones urbanas previstas para el primer semestre de 2022 en una sesi\u00f3n informativa conjunta para los Estados miembros de la ONU organizada por la CEPE y ONU-H\u00e1bitat. Como moderador, el GCH hizo hincapi\u00e9 en la necesidad de la contribuci\u00f3n de todas las partes interesadas, incluidos los Estados, los gobiernos locales y regionales, las organizaciones internacionales y la sociedad civil. Las pr\u00f3ximas reuniones urbanas son: el Foro de Alcaldes de la CEPE, la Reuni\u00f3n de Alto Nivel de la AG sobre la Nueva Agenda Urbana y el Foro Urbano Mundial.m.<\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

1. La CEPE introdujo el Foro de Alcaldes<\/a> (Ginebra, 4 y 5 de abril) que permitir\u00e1 a los l\u00edderes de las ciudades intercambiar experiencias, presentar sus esfuerzos para afrontar los retos urbanos y debatir c\u00f3mo trabajar juntos en el contexto de la ONU. <\/span><\/p>\n

 <\/span><\/p>\n

2. El equipo del Presidente de la Asamblea General de la ONU (PGA) se refiri\u00f3 a la Reuni\u00f3n de Alto Nivel sobre la Nueva Agenda Urbana (con el mandato de Resoluci\u00f3n 75\/224 de la AG, OP17<\/a>) (Nueva York, 28 de abril) para hacer balance de los progresos realizados en la aplicaci\u00f3n del Nueva Agenda Urbana<\/a>. La AGP ha creado un Comit\u00e9 Consultivo sobre urbanizaci\u00f3n sostenible para asesorar sobre la planificaci\u00f3n de esa Reuni\u00f3n de Alto Nivel y las Comisiones Econ\u00f3micas Regionales de la ONU contribuir\u00e1n de forma sustancial a esa reuni\u00f3n, bas\u00e1ndose en su trabajo de apoyo a la aplicaci\u00f3n de la Nueva Agenda Urbana. <\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

3. Por \u00faltimo, ONU-H\u00e1bitat introdujo el Foro Urbano Mundial<\/a> (Katowice, 26-30 de junio de 2022). Este encuentro constituye la mayor reuni\u00f3n de partes interesadas en la urbanizaci\u00f3n sostenible, l\u00edderes de opini\u00f3n y actores pol\u00edticos que explorar\u00e1n innovaciones, soluciones y oportunidades pol\u00edticas en la agenda de transformaci\u00f3n urbana como parte de la d\u00e9cada de acci\u00f3n para lograr los ODS.<\/span> <\/p>\n

El Centro de Ciudades de Ginebra espera que los Estados, los gobiernos locales y regionales, las organizaciones internacionales, la sociedad civil y otras partes interesadas se movilicen antes de estas tres reuniones para impulsar la agenda de la urbanizaci\u00f3n sostenible, que est\u00e1 en el centro de la resiliencia y la recuperaci\u00f3n de la pandemia.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t
