Construyendo sobre una reuni\u00f3n de expertos anterior<\/a> sobre los derechos humanos en las ciudades inclusivas, esta segunda conferencia en l\u00ednea - coorganizada por el Plataforma de Derechos Humanos de Ginebra<\/a>, ONU-H\u00e1bitat<\/a>El Oficina del Alto Comisionado de las Naciones Unidas para los Derechos Humanos<\/a> y el Centro de Ciudades de Ginebra<\/a> en colaboraci\u00f3n con la Uni\u00f3n Mundial de Ciegos<\/a>, Mundo habilitado<\/a> y el Asamblea General de Socios<\/a> - centrado en las personas con discapacidad (PWD) y las personas mayores a nivel de la ciudad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Durante dos d\u00edas, unos 60 expertos -representantes de organizaciones de PWD, expertos de las Naciones Unidas (ONU) y de organismos gubernamentales, miembros de la Comit\u00e9 de la ONU sobre los Derechos de las Personas con Discapacidad (CRPD)<\/a> y el Relator Especial de la ONU sobre las personas con discapacidad<\/a>  - analizaron los retos y barreras existentes para las PWD y las personas mayores en un contexto urbano y formularon recomendaciones espec\u00edficas al respecto. En la medida de lo posible, los participantes tambi\u00e9n identificaron acciones e intervenciones espec\u00edficas para incorporarlas a las pol\u00edticas locales.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Las personas con discapacidad y las personas mayores siguen enfrent\u00e1ndose a barreras en sus actividades cotidianas, por lo que es urgente desarrollar soluciones que satisfagan sus necesidades y eliminen estas barreras\", subraya Kamelia Kemileva, Directora a.i. del Geneva Cities Hub.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Una reuni\u00f3n online inclusiva<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Garantizar la accesibilidad de la reuni\u00f3n en l\u00ednea para todos era un imperativo clave para nosotros. Por ello, se ofrecieron subt\u00edtulos, interpretaci\u00f3n simult\u00e1nea en tres idiomas -franc\u00e9s, ingl\u00e9s y espa\u00f1ol- e interpretaci\u00f3n en lengua de signos\", explica. Felix Kirchmeier, Director Ejecutivo de la Plataforma de Derechos Humanos de Ginebra<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Hacia ciudades inclusivas para todos<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Esta reuni\u00f3n, financiada por la Agencia Sueca de Desarrollo Internacional (ASDI) a trav\u00e9s de ONU-H\u00e1bitat, es la segunda de una serie que tiene como objetivo desarrollar documentos operativos para traducir las normas de derechos humanos a nivel de la ciudad para los gobiernos locales, los profesionales y los responsables de la toma de decisiones a nivel de la ciudad, as\u00ed como los gobiernos nacionales interesados en cuestiones de gobernanza local.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
