INC-5.2 will be held from 5 August to 14 August 2025 at the Palais des Nations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LSNG Coalition has published a <a href=\"https:\/\/globalcitieshub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/LSNGs_Coalition_position_towards-INC5.2_June-2025_final.pdf\">position paper<\/a> ahead of INC-5.2, which highlights the crucial role of LRGs in fighting plastic pollution. It also underlines the shared hope for an ambitious treaty that, <em>inter alia<\/em>, addresses the issue of plastic production and consumption and ensures the environmentally sound management of waste.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The LSNG Coalition has <a href=\"https:\/\/globalcitieshub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/07\/LSNGs_Coalition_letter_Suggested_language_final.pdf\">advocated<\/a> for negotiating Member States to maintain current language and strengthen the references to local and regional governments and to whole-of-government and whole-of-society approaches.
