{"id":19428,"date":"2024-03-10T18:29:00","date_gmt":"2024-03-10T17:29:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/globalcitieshub.org\/?p=19428"},"modified":"2024-03-15T14:21:52","modified_gmt":"2024-03-15T13:21:52","slug":"our-2023-annual-report-is-out","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/globalcitieshub.org\/en\/our-2023-annual-report-is-out\/","title":{"rendered":"Our 2023 Annual report is out!"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>In 2023, the Global Cities Hub (GCH) changed its name (previously \u201cGeneva Cities Hub\u201d) to better reflect the fact that cities and regions were global players on the international stage, engaging in the global governance of common challenges and that the scope of GCH\u2019s work is global.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Looking back at 2023, the GCH pursued its mission to better connect local and regional governments (LRGs) to the&nbsp;International Geneva&nbsp;ecosystem and to elevate the urban agenda. The year has been marked by the engagement of the GCH in six priority multilateral processes offering concrete entry points to LRGs: the 3<sup>rd<\/sup>&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/globalcitieshub.org\/en\/the-forum-of-mayors\/\">Forum of Mayors&nbsp;<\/a>and its interregional segment organized in collaboration with all UN Regional Economic Commissions; the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.globalcitieshub.org\/en\/human-rights-council\/\">Human Rights Council<\/a>&nbsp;and its Universal Periodic Review; intergovernmental negotiations on a new treaty on pandemics within&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.genevacitieshub.org\/en\/world-health-organization-who\/\">WHO<\/a>, as well as on a new treaty on plastic pollution within&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.unep.org\/inc-plastic-pollution\/session-4\">UNEP<\/a>; the issue of smart cities&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.genevacitieshub.org\/en\/international-telecommunication-union-itu\">at the World Summit on the Information Society and within ITU<\/a>&nbsp;more broadly; and the Global Refugee Forum steered by&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.genevacitieshub.org\/en\/un-high-commissioner-for-refugees-unhcr\/\">UNHCR<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Read our 2023 Annual Report to learn more about how GCH provided an effective platform for collaboration between LRGs and international players and strengthened the voice of LRGs within multilateralism.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/globalcitieshub.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/cities-hub_AR_2023_web.pdf\">The GCH Annual Report 2023<\/a> is available in French.
