In an article entitled \u201cCities better prepared for health emergencies<\/i>\u201d recently published in newSpecial,<\/a> Geneva Cities Hub argues that increased investment to strengthen capacities and capabilities in urban health services, including health emergency preparedness and response are essential.<\/p>\n

Looking forward to the 75th World Health Assembly, we need to face that cities have become hot-spots of pandemics due to globalized travel and trade. Cities\u2019 voices need to be heard at the global discussion table, because urban health conditions might also be pre-determinant to the capacity to handle the consequences of a pandemic.<\/p>\n
