Numerous cities have promoted soft mobility as the future of urban transport.<\/p>\n\n<p><br \/>The United Nations have declared June 3 the \u201cWorld Bike Day\u201d. The Geneva Cities Hub partnering with the Swiss Mission to the United Nations, the United Nations Road Safety Fund, \u201c<a href=\"https:\/\/www.pro-velo-geneve.ch\/\">Pro Velo<\/a>\u201d Geneva, the Geneva Environment Network and <a href=\"https:\/\/urbz.net\/gva\">Urbz<\/a>, co-organised a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.genevacitieshub.org\/en\/geneva-cities-hub-party-for-the-world-bike-day\/\">Garden Party<\/a> at the Villa Rigot some days later, June 30, 2021, to celebrate urban soft mobility and the softening of Covid measures in Geneva. The event constituted a welcome opportunity to (re)connect with colleagues and friends from International and Local Geneva, including diplomats, urbanists, and United Nations staff.<\/p>\n<p>As Mr Sami Kanaan, Vice-Mayor of Geneva and President of the Geneva Cities Hub mentioned to the invitees: \u201cWhen I arrived in Geneva some 30 years ago, there were not much cycling paths in the town. We have managed together to change this situation, and we shall continue\u201d.<\/p>\n\n<p>\u201cSoft mobility is the future of cities\u201d, echoed Mr Jean-Pierre Reymond, <a href=\"https:\/\/2050today.org\/\">2050Today<\/a> global coordinator, Charg\u00e9 de mission, Permanent Mission of Switzerland.
